knitting as fast as i can!

i am! i really am. today, ... it was laundry day (and some other errands).

i took my sock(s).

and knitted in my morning meeting, and then at the laundromat.

i'm making some progress. i really really really want to get these finished before march. i'm knitting in every spare moment, but ... it's still slow ....

the socks are suffering!

i'm not sure why per se ... but, they ARE suffering! i did finish the first sock of this last seen post ...

Untitled

now, here's a DISCLAIMER! ... i do not have kitties! i've just completed a house/cat sitting gig, and one of the kitties terrorized my knitting.

regardless, that sock is finished. and i have cast on the mate. and, of course i'm not as interested, but perhaps it is more interesting since i keep messing up my current sock:

this sock is driving me a bit crazy. i should be able to knit lace, follow a chart, etc ... but i keep messing up.

i blame all of life's distractions.

i have spent about as much time ripping as knitting. and i don't know why, other than my head is elsewhere.

the yarn is 'panda cotton' ... and the chart is 16 sts wide. i should place a stitch marker on one of my needles.

not much progress

since i finished my hat, i feel like i've not made much progress at all. maybe my heart just isn't into my project? i was so excited about this sock, but it's not working out as planned ....

the sock is from this pattern book (not the picture on the front cover).

the pattern i'm using is called "textured socks".  the front of the leg has a nice zigzag pattern, and the rest of the sock is knitted in seed stitch. well, i've noticed that my seed stitch portion has a very different row gauge than the other part. i'm a bit concerned about that.

i don't have a better picture right now of my sock, other than this crazy photo.

i've been using my fabulous flickr app to upload pictures. it's awfully convenient on the iPhone. but, at least you can see the texture of the pattern, and get an idea of the design.

when a project isn't quite working out, i kinda drag my feet.

i'm housesitting right now, so i don't have full access to my stash or knitting library, so i kinda have to "make do" with what i packed in my big knitting bag.
