woe is me ...

in a greedy rush to play with my fresh yarn, i have knitted quite a bit of a jaywalker ... that possibly does. not. fit ! CRAP!

i think it's tight. i tried it on, as pictured, and was in fear of snapping my wee dpns. also, when the bugger is flat, the leg only measures 3 5/8" across ... i like my socks to measure about 4" flat. whaaa !

so, i think i'm cursed. i've tried knitting jaywalkers before, without much success. what i should do is take a lesson from grumperina, and keep at it until it's right.

what i might do is dabble in some other fresh yarn ....

but they're so CUTE! and so GIRLY! you HAVE to finish them!

although, the fresh yarn's awfully appealing, too. :)

OK.. I have to know what that green yarn is on the second photo.. my life may well depend on it. I tried knitting Jaywalker three times and gave up.

Jaywalkers=tension headache!!

Just cast some Opal on, that should take away the pain!

ms mouse, the green yarn in the other photo is opal's handpainted yarn. i can find the label later and let you know exactly which colorway it is :)
i'm thinking i might need to ditch the jaywalkers for the opal too!

So that's how the Yarntini knits up! Cool! I have some of this in stash too. :-)

I haven't had any luck with this pattern either, but I am determined to conquer it. Don't worry about your first attempt being too small. This is par for the course! Change needles or try casting on the next size up.

Oh man! That's too bad they're too small! I've knit two pairs, and I did them both in the smaller size, but on 2.75mm needles.

Oh I love the way the green and pink jaywalker looks. It's a shame it is too small!

i have askein of that opal at home. It has the lable - I'll look and see what the color is called.

I made a pair once, where I did YO increases instead of Kfb increases, and they were much stretchier and lacy and wonderful. But you have to knit the sole in plain stockinette. Great colors - the chevrons are so bright & clear!

Hmmm... Jaywalkers was on next on my list. I won't be using beautiful yarn for it but wonder whether I should still continue since you are experiencing such problems...I guess it's pretty inelastic?

i know i said my last pair of socks were my last, but those groovy ones at the top are making me re-think my choice!
