brief and yellow
there was some pretty spectacular fall foliage up in new york.
and some pretty spectacular freakish yellow sock yarn from spirit trail fiberworks.
i mean, how does one resist such color with this natural influence all around?
that, mixed in with a bag full of sock needles, and stitch pattern books at my disposal, i had to cast on ... with this zig zag eyelet stitch.
and so, i knitted on amtrak. the staff was calling me fast hands.
.... and i finished the sock somewhere in virginia ... so, i think this must be my first socktober sock. i think i'm a little late to the party.
more entries and photos to follow. i just wanted to post something tonight.

Great yellow sock! It takes me FOREVER to finish a sock.. you are so speedy!
It's beautiful....
Well, actually it's the ugliest yellow yarn I've ever seen, but I love it. It's really cool. Acid lemon AND apricot, too. The eyelet pattern is perfect for it....

Wait a sec - you knit that in one day? Wha? You are "Fast Hands."
So you designed and knit a sock in a day... I think "Fast Hands" sums it up quite nicely!
ooooh, disclaimer needed!
i had cast on for the sock the day before (i think). i did not knit the entire time on the train, though i had all day to knit, as i was traveling from 7:20 am until 9 pm. while on the trains, i knitted, read, slept, ate, chatted on my phone, gazed out the windows, etc. so, i did not knit the entire sock from start to finish, but i could had.
i admire your ability to knit a sock on the train--i tried that last friday and failed miserably--i knitted some simpler stuff instead. the sock is cute, and done way before My First Sock, which i will be lucky to finish in the month of october--i'm still hoping to finish it sunday!
Wowsa that is a great sock! Love the pattern that you picked out. Great job!! You earned your nickname girl, fast hands!
yowza! i am impressed with that great stitch pattern, but i already knew you were one of the World's Fastest Knitters, so no surprise there! love that yellow yarn.
I love the simple lace pattern on this sock. And the hoodie looks super comfy! Fast hands indeed. :-)
Mmm, you're right about the yellow. Very yummy. It makes me wonder, why don't I have more yellow yarn? And I love how your zigzag eyelet sock turned out.
They are fantastic!
Spirit-Trail Jen dyes some nice sock yarn. I love the yellow, and the leaves to match.
